Recreation Vice Commissioner

    Recreational Soccer Pathway

    Recreation Information

Integrity, Respect, Passion and Community. Those are our Core values at Hernando Soccer Club and our Recreational Pathway strives to achieve those values in a safe, non-competitive, and progressive environment.  Today, our recreational program is home to around 650 players. Players ages three to eighteen, of all skill levels, can participate in one or both seasons in the Fall and Spring.

    Rec's Mission

The Mission of the Recreational Pathway to encourage each player to be the best they can be and instill, through development, the basic fundamental principles of soccer.

    Registration

Parents MUST register their child online.

If you have played soccer in Florida, but not with HSC, and do not know your gotsport username and password you can email  recregistrar@hernandosc.com for your login information.

If you have never played soccer in Florida use the link above to create a gotsport account and register.

New players must upload a state certified birth certificate to their "gotsport" account during registration along with a photo for their player pass required by FYSA. No hospital birth certificates.

HSC uses a blind draft system when forming teams. We CANNOT honor any special requests for team placement or practice nights.   Please keep this in mind when registering.

    Structure of Recreational Soccer

There is plenty to learn in our progressive and fun recreational program. Our youngest players start with fewer players on the field, a smaller ball, no goalkeepers, and coaches right out on the field guiding them as they go. As the players mature, the elements of the game change. Field size, number of players and ball size gradually increase, and we see the addition of goalies. This progressive process is designed in an age-appropriate manner that grows with the child.

    U4, U6, U8

    • Small sided, 4v4, games ranging from 6-8- 12 min quarters.
    • No goal keepers, U4 and U6 Coach assisting players on field.
    • One night a week practices (Determined by Head Coach)
    • These ages work on touches of the ball and rudimentary concepts of the game.

    U10-U12

    • Small sided, 7v7/ 9v9, games ranging from 25 min to 30 min halves.
    • Practices two nights per week. (Determined by Head Coach)
    •  U10 works on the added Goal Keeper position an positioning of players, as well as the furthered development of skills.

    U14 and Up

    • Full size, 11v11, games ranging from 35-45 min halves.
    • Practices two nights per week (Determined by Head Coach)
    • These ages continue the development of all Fundamental skills in.
